The morphology and phylogenetic analysis of three genera of colourless sulphur bacteria found in different regions of Lake Baikal were studied. Based on 16S rRNA gene analysis, Baikalian Thioploca sp. belongs to the cluster of freshwater representatives of this genus from different lakes and is identical to the species T. ingrica. A new species of Ca. Thiothrix namsaraevi was discovered in the Zmeiny hot spring using whole genome analysis. Single filaments with sulphur inclusions from the Hakusy hot spring were identified as Beggiatoa sp. with 99% homology to uncultivated representatives of the genus.
