Abstract

An analysis of the taxonomic structure and diversity of sub-ice algal-bacterial communities in the Maloye More Strait of Lake Baikal in two different ecotopes (the bottom surface of the ice and the water column) was carried out. According to high-throughput sequencing of the 18S rRNA fragment and microscopy, the dinoflagellates Gymnodinium baicalense and green algae Binuclearia lauterbornii predominated on the bottom surface of the ice, while the diatoms Ulnaria acus and Fragilaria radians and green algae of the genus Monoraphidium> and Koliela predominated in the water column. In the bacterial communities, the most abundant phyla were Actinobacteria, Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes.
