Currently, classification plays an important role and importance as a method of scientific cognition and is one of the mandatory attributes in the knowledge of the world. Classification or typification are ways of grouping objects of research or observation according to their common characteristics. Currently, there are many different classifications in the scientific literature according to one or another feature, most of which are single-criteria or developed for a specific region. This paper presents the development of a regional ecological and limnological classification of the lakes of Yakutia on the example of the Indigirka River basin (RELK) according to the leading parameters (geographical, physico-chemical and hydrobiological). The development of the classification made it possible to study a large amount of factual material on the lakes of the Indigirka River basin, as a result of which data on the current state of the lakes of the poorly studied limnological region of the study were obtained.
